Summary This position is located at the Mountain View Golf Course.

Eligibility

Public – U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.

United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

Incumbent is under the direct supervision and training of the Golf Course Superintendent in the maintenance, repair and improvement of the condition of the entire playing area of the golf course.

This includes, but is not limited to, direction and supervision of subordinate employees in all phases of course maintenance to include mowing, watering, fertilizing and maintaining tees, fairways, greens and roughs and all peripheral areas.

Additionally, performs administrative duties related to the maintenance of the golf course and equipment used on the course. This includes ordering and receiving parts, equipment and materials for the course and equipment maintenance section.

Requirements

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.

A one-year probationary period may be required.

Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.

Must be able to lift up to 50 Ibs and complete a pre-employment physical.

Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.

Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

Incumbent must have extensive work experience that demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform work in all phases of golf course maintenance to include one-year experience equivalent to the next lower level.

Incumbent also must have experience in irrigation system repair, modification and usage.

Also, must have a working knowledge of the chemicals and equipment used to control fungi, insects, and weeds on the golf course.

Incumbent must be certified, or certifiable as pesticide applicator by the Department of Defense, in the categories required for the use of the golf course.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Allowances and Differentials

This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
