Join Ability Matters, LLC to lead inclusive learning environments for students with disabilities. As a Licensed Intervention Specialist / Special Education Teacher, you will design and supervise educational programs and support a team of Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support educational staff: Supervise and mentor Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals to maintain consistent, effective programming.
Design and monitor Individualized Education Programs: Develop, implement, and oversee IEPs in compliance with state and federal requirements.
Provide targeted instruction: Deliver direct instruction aligned with student needs and individualized goals.
Use data to drive instruction: Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies based on student progress and assessment data.
Collaborate with families and partners: Maintain strong communication with school districts, service providers, and families.
Support student transitions: Assist with assessments, onboarding, and transitions to adult services when applicable.
Participate in team leadership: Contribute to meetings, training, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Valid Ohio Department of Education Intervention Specialist License.
At least 3 years of experience supporting K–12 students and/or individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Strong leadership, organization, instructional planning, and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
