This temporary position is one‑year, grant funded, for the 2025‑2026 school year. Hours are 2 hours/day, 5 days/week. Salary is Entry Range 12, Step 1: $19.77/hour.
The Kodiak Island Borough School District is accepting applications for an Aide II TTL-IC at Main Elementary for the remainder of the 2025‑2026 school year.
In addition, the district accepts applications for an Aide II TTL-I-C at Peterson Elementary. The I‑C Aide works to provide instructional, social, logistical and transitional services to identified I‑C students in partnership with families and school staff.
Qualifications
Ability to work well with public, students, staff and parents.
Ability to carry out tasks assigned by the teacher/supervisor.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Operate current office technology as appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality of students, staff, school business, materials, and information.
Safety ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
Identify eligible students needing assistance by teacher referral and other student performance indicators.
May be required to administer formal assessment of students under the supervision of certificated personnel.
Attend training sessions and/or workshops.
Confer with classroom teachers, counselors and students in formulating educational plans for qualifying students, and update plans as required.
Document students’ involvement and progress in tutoring activities and submit reports as required. Upon completion of tutoring, document the extent of the students’ completions of educational plans.
Determine, on a regularly scheduled basis, if there are attendance problems and follow‑up with parents if needed; work with student, counselor, teacher or parent in preparing a plan for improvement.
Maintain regular and timely contact with students, teachers or counselors and document contact as required.
Coordinate book distribution programs as required.
Maintain confidentiality of students, staff, school business, materials, and information.
Other duties as assigned from time to time.
