Job Summary:
As an Executive Sous Chef, you will execute cuisine that exceeds guest expectations, lead and inspire the culinary team, manage cost goals, and uphold Levy’s vision and values. Responsibilities include maintaining recipes, ensuring safety and sanitation standards, delivering quality food and presentations, and continually expanding culinary expertise.
Responsibilities
Execute menus in accordance with brand standards.
Maintain recipes to meet core standards.
Ensure team members consistently deliver heartfelt hospitality to every guest.
Provide team members with the necessary tools to complete their jobs.
Maintain show quality standards at all times.
Obtain and use client and guest feedback to improve operations.
Support and communicate Levy initiatives.
Respond and assist in departmental guest service issues.
Account for team adherence to steps of service for great guest experience.
Execute preventive maintenance schedule as directed by the Director of Operations.
Conduct daily walkthroughs in culinary areas for each event.
Continuously gain culinary expertise.
Practice proper product control and inventory handling.
Achieve daily sales and assigned cost goals.
Ensure security, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
Exercise good safety and sanitation practices.
Forecast and schedule staff to meet operational needs.
Plan operations to ensure adequate products and equipment are ordered.
Ensure team members follow Levy guidelines as stated in training manuals and the handbook.
Display a positive attitude toward team members.
Interview, hire, train, and develop team members in line with Levy guidelines.
Conduct regular meetings to open communication between management and team.
Promote a cooperative work climate to maximize productivity and morale.
Use performance‑management tools to provide guidance and feedback.
Assist team members when needed.
Mentor Sous Chefs to improve skills and leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Culinary degree preferred.
Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products.
Effective communication with management, guests, and team members.
Strong team‑builder; ability to develop and manage a team.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e‑mail, and the Internet.
