The OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) Mill Line Worker is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the production and processing of steel pipe used in oil and gas operations. This role is designed for individuals who are new to the industry (“green”) and eager to learn. Full training will be provided on all equipment, safety practices, inspection procedures, and production standards.

The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and willing to work in a fast-paced industrial environment while learning new skills.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the setup, operation, and monitoring of mill line equipment used to process OCTG pipe.

Follow all training instructions and standard operating procedures while gaining competency in mill operations.

Perform basic visual inspections of pipe for defects, weld quality, straightness, and surface conditions (training provided).

Support senior operators with measuring, tagging, and documenting product details.

Help load, unload, and position pipe on conveyors, racks, or processing stations.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support safe and efficient operations.

Follow all company safety rules, PPE requirements, and hazard-awareness training.

Communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards to the shift lead or supervisor.

Participate in ongoing training for equipment operation, quality standards, and production expectations.

Perform other duties as assigned to support daily production goals.

Requirements

No prior OCTG experience required—training is provided.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.

Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move materials throughout the shift (up to company-defined weight limits).

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, warehouse work, or other labor-intensive environments.

Mechanical aptitude or interest in learning machine operation.

Industrial mill setting with noise, heat, moving equipment, and steel materials.

Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Shift work, overtime, and weekend work may be required depending on production needs.
