Place Services, Inc., has an immediate need for an
Experienced Concrete Estimator
in our Concrete Division to be based out of our
Easley, SC
location.
The Concrete Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and bids for Commercial, Institutional and Industrial construction projects. This includes the ability to estimate excavation, footings, walls, slabs, tilt up, site, and other cast in place concrete. The Estimator analyzes project documents, performs quantity take-offs, solicits and evaluates subcontractor and vendor quotes, and collaborates with clients and internal teams to ensure estimates are technically sound and cost‑effective.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with division manager to research and determine suitability of concrete projects.
Prepare quantity takeoffs for all concrete scopes including excavation, reinforcing, concrete, formwork, for footings, walls, slabs, tilt up, site, and other cast in place concrete.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.
Conduct site visits and attend pre‑bid meetings to assess existing conditions and project requirements.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for concrete scope of work, materials, equipment, and labor.
Ensure subcontractor and vendor proposals fully address project specifications and scope.
Calculate total job costs, including direct labor, materials, equipment, subcontracted work, and general conditions in collaboration with division manager.
Coordinate with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and clients to align cost estimates with project goals and budgets.
Offer value‑engineering solutions, including alternative materials or installation methods, to reduce costs or improve constructability.
Stay current with industry pricing, ACI 301, materials, and installation practices relevant to Commercial, Institutional and Industrial construction projects.
Qualifications:
3+ years of estimating experience in concrete construction with a strong emphasis on commercial and institutional concrete.
Proven ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Experience with estimating software such as Plan swift, Stacks, On‑Screen Takeoff, Timberline, or similar platforms.
Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Experience with RFIs, change orders, and project documentation processes is a plus.
