CRI-Help is a substance use disorder treatment center located in Los Angeles County. We have been serving patients since 1971 with a mission to provide first‑class treatment for adults and families.
Overview The SUD Counselor / Case Worker assists clients in discovering a way of life free from chemical use, supports them through the recovery process, and develops individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities
Keep a schedule of regular counseling appointments and be available for non‑scheduled crisis counseling.
Complete bio‑psycho‑social assessments and develop evidence‑based treatment plans.
Document progress notes, discharge summaries, and aftercare plans in a timely manner.
Participate in weekly Case Conferences and treatment team meetings.
Act as a liaison between clients and community service agencies (Probation, Parole, DPSS, EDD, DVR, etc.).
Make occasional court appearances and facilitate groups or educational classes as assigned.
Provide family support through conjoint sessions and family groups.
Interface with all staff regarding client treatment issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge
Knowledge of the Twelve Steps and ability to use counseling techniques to motivate the client.
Ability to establish a genuine therapeutic relationship and act as Case Manager coordinating continuum of services.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Understanding of the Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous programs.
Education / Training
Registered or certified with CADTP, CAADE, CCAPP, or hold a master’s level BBS registration.
Experience
Experience working in SUD treatment.
Working knowledge of the 12 Steps of NA and AA.
Working Conditions
Frequently remain in stationary positions, standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods.
Occasionally crouching below the waist and/or reaching above the shoulders.
Occasionally lifting and/or moving objects up to 20 lbs.
Special Conditions
Must be willing to undergo random drug screenings.
