Summary
The Healthcare Senior Account Executive is responsible for assisting in the production of new and renewal accounts, aligning with agency and individual producer goals, and providing in‑depth risk management support to high‑profile healthcare customers.
Essential Functions
Market, service, develop, and retain assigned accounts. Meet established account development and retention objectives, as well as a targeted mix of business, underwriting guidelines, and volume commitments.
Perform risk analysis surveys, obtain renewal information, complete applications, obtain markets, deliver policies, coordinate efforts of loss control or other services, and resolve service problems, including research for compliance and industry changes that affect the customer and the policies in force.
Retain and develop accounts by recommending risk handling to the producer and/or customer, seeking cost‑effective coverages, preparing proposals, evaluating and recommending other lines of coverage, and providing additional resources such as due diligence on behalf of the customer for mergers and acquisitions.
Negotiate with insurance companies for appropriate coverage options.
Assist the producer in preparing or making presentations of insurance programs to key accounts and prospects, including stewardship reports and RFPs.
Conduct renewal meetings with customers on behalf of the producer.
Present renewal proposals independently of the producer.
Handle book of business with limited or no producer direction.
Apply sales and production skills for new or specialized coverages and marketing.
Manage large enterprise accounts.
Stay abreast of all new sales programs.
Refer current and prospective clients to the Employee Benefits Department and the Personal Insurance Department for solicitation of those lines of business.
Provide team leadership skills for account executives, senior account managers, and account managers, and assist in the mentoring program.
Assist the department in meeting annual training goals for overall department education.
Review all activities relating to the public, customers, and companies to avoid potential errors and omissions.
Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development.

Job Qualifications
7–9 years of previous commercial lines/agency operations experience, focusing on large commercial lines and/or high‑profile commercial lines customers preferred.
5–7 years of experience in medical professional liability and/or healthcare organization‑related accounts.
2–4 years of experience with large self‑insured and/or captive programs.
Resident insurance agent/producer license for the operating state – Property and Casualty (or the ability to quickly obtain) is required.
Bachelor’s degree in business or another related discipline required.
MBA, MPH, or MHA preferred.
RPLU, CPCU, CIC, CRIS, CRM, ARM, or other related designations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of commercial lines and professional liability coverages, field underwriting for carrier appetites, marketing, and rating.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others.
In-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry and risks associated with healthcare organizations.
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Strong PC skills with focus on Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and agency management systems.
