The key focus for INEOS Energy Trading US (IETUS) is a single face to market ensuring stable, reliable market access and fair market values amongst all commodities while also pursuing value-adding growth and opportunities.
IETUS is looking for an experienced crude Trading Operator to be accountable for the logistics planning and execution needed in physical trading deals to ensure that all safety requirements and obligations are met including Contractual, Compliance and Commercial. Trading Operators play a pivotal role in ensuring that the front to back office processes run smoothly and that valuable data and information is collected, entered and validated in a timely manner to allow effective management and oversight of the deal lifecycle.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities Operational Execution & Compliance
Execute all physical movements of commercial deals safely and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Ensure monthly production plans are met while optimizing logistics costs.
Scheduling & Coordination
Schedule crude oil movements on third‑party gathering systems, major trunkline pipelines, and terminals across regions including Texas, Mid‑Con, Rockies, Canada, Louisiana, and Offshore.
Perform accurate and timely plant and pipeline nominations; monitor and resolve volumetric discrepancies or pipeline cuts.
Inventory & Cost Management
Monitor tank inventories and manage operational flows to maintain optimal levels.
Track oil reject tickets and collaborate with field personnel to minimize associated costs.
Communication & Relationship Building
Communicate operational changes effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, midstream contacts, field personnel, and logistics service providers.
Forecasting & Analysis
Provide traders with forecasts of equity crude volumes available for market.
Estimate daily production sales volumes and track production, transportation, and wellhead imbalances.
Data & System Management
Maintain accurate operational data in the ETRM system (Horizon).
Develop and update scheduling spreadsheets and monthly operational KPIs.
Financial & Month‑End Processes
Act as liaison with volume accounting for pipeline statement and invoice reconciliation.
Lead month‑end processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and improve efficiency.
Contract & Compliance
Read, understand, and apply key commercial contract terms.
Support special projects and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements.
Education/Experience
10+ years work experience with 5+ years in crude Trading Operations.
Industry Knowledge
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations.
Deep understanding of domestic crude terminals, flows and pipelines.
Preferred Software Experience
Superior working knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications, specifically: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system experience; Horizon experience is a plus.
