Sales Associate, Part Time Flex – Brooklyn (West Elm Outlet)
Join West Elm to provide a unique shopping experience by offering excellent customer service, utilizing effective selling techniques and providing in-depth product knowledge in a fast‑paced specialty retail environment.
Responsibilities
Provide sincere, friendly, and energetic customer service that exemplifies world‑class service standards.
Achieve established sales and contest goals while maintaining knowledge of current sales and promotions.
Assist customers with a variety of services, including gift wrap, gift registry, locating merchandise, catalog and special orders, back orders, charge sends, courier deliveries, and furniture orders.
Utilize effective selling techniques to build multiple sales and increase productivity.
Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge and communicate features and benefits to customers.
Efficiently and accurately perform register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges).
Assist with visual merchandise presentation, signage, and lighting maintenance.
Uphold store maintenance and cleanliness standards, straighten and clean stockroom as needed.
Process, ticket, and restock merchandise.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
1–2 years of customer service experience and retail sales experience; specialty retail experience preferred.
Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time; operate POS system; lift and mobilize medium to large items up to 75 lbs. while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
Part‑time Flex associates must be available to work a minimum of two weekend shifts and two weekday shifts; full‑time associates have open availability.
Physical Requirements
Mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
Operate POS system.
Lift and mobilize medium to large items up to 75 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
