Ambassadors exist to radiate a hospitable and inviting experience to everyone who visits downtown Schenectady. Ambassadors should present with a positive attitude and be Teachable, Reliable, a Team-player and Committed.
Specific Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Walk & talk to downtown guests
Open & hold doors
Answers questions & give directions
Be aware of downtown events, shows, and places of interest
Be on the lookout for unfavorable behavior
Gently encourage such behavior to cease and/or call police
Smile a lot!
Look for ways to serve people, creating a safe & welcoming culture in downtown Schenectady
Please note that the Ambassadors are not security or law enforcement but rather a hospitality service for the patrons of Downtown Schenectady.
Job Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Pass a background check
Legally allowed to be employed part-time in NYS
Able to work evenings and weekendsWarm, friendly personality
Willing to learn & grow; able to listen to & accept encouragement from peers & supervisor(s)
