What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do You will be a full‑time Banquet Captain responsible for overseeing banquet events, ensuring exceptional guest service, smooth operations, and maximizing revenue. You will act as the liaison between the Banquets Manager, Events Sales Manager, Event Host, guests, kitchen and banquet staff, and other stakeholders.

Oversee all aspects of banquet service—setup, service, and breakdown—following the event BEO while maintaining high standards of service and presentation.

Coordinate with kitchen and catering staff for timely food preparation and delivery; conduct a final quality check on food and beverage items just before serving guests.

Greet guests warmly, provide property information, and offer heartfelt thank‑you farewells.

Manage banquet staff professionally, assigning tasks, training, and guiding performance.

Conduct pre‑event meetings to review BEO details, timelines, and guest expectations.

Review the menu with staff, covering preparation methods, cooking techniques, and ingredients, acknowledging special requests, allergies, or dietary needs.

Answer guest questions about menu items, beverage options, ingredients, and cooking methods.

Monitor and address guest satisfaction during events, promptly resolving issues and informing kitchen or management as required.

Assist with inventory management, ensuring the availability of all necessary supplies and equipment for events.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Director, Banquets Manager, or Director of Catering.

Supportive Functions The hotel operates 24/7. Employees may need to adjust shifts to meet business demands, including weekends and holidays, and may perform additional duties requested by management to support other departments or operational needs.

What Are We Looking For?

Previous experience as a banquet captain or similar event leadership role, preferably in a hotel.

Availability to work any day of the week—including weekends and holidays—with a flexible schedule that may change weekly.

Effective communication in English with guests and staff.

Strong leadership and oral and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.

Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities in a fast‑paced environment, responding with urgency to resolve issues.

Quick, effective decision‑making to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth operations.

Physical capability to move up to 50 lbs frequently, extend arms, reach, twist, pull, bend, and stoop as needed.

Frequent standing, walking, and stair use during the shift.

Ability to observe and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross‑contamination protocols, and sanitation.

Professional Licenses/Certifications

Food Handler Certification.

Texas TABC Certification.

Compensation Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and certification. Actual packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate.
