What You Will Do This critical customer‑facing role executes the Neuroimmunology Business Unit’s peer‑to‑peer strategies and builds productive relationships with speakers, thought leaders, and other key influencers from key accounts in the assigned geography. The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) collaborates with Sales, Site of Care, and Medical Affairs to address customer needs, identify projects of mutual interest, anticipate market trends, uncover competitive intelligence, and deliver a cohesive customer experience.
Responsibilities
Significant customer‑facing time building relationships with current and future thought leaders.
Create local peer‑to‑peer strategies aligned with national and regional marketing and sales plans.
Liaise with sales and marketing to ensure thought leader concerns are addressed in a timely and thorough manner.
Collaborate with the Amgen advocacy team to develop relationships with key physician and patient organizations.
Create and execute short‑term and long‑term KOL engagement plans.
Capture, synthesize, and share key insights to shape brand strategy and future lifecycle management.
Identify evidence gaps across product and disease education through appropriate discussions.
Disseminate insights to broader stakeholders—marketing, sales, market access—to inform new strategies and tactics.
Coordinate leadership interactions at assigned national/regional/state society conferences.
Initiate and pursue opportunities to involve Amgen in meaningful programs with thought leaders.
Assist with speaker events, including speaker selection, training, and program review.
Collaborate with marketing on peer‑to‑peer programs and contribute to the U.S. speaker bureau.
Contribute to content development by providing customer insight and perspective.
What We Expect Of You The marketing professional we seek is a collaborative partner with the following qualifications.
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate with 2 years of marketing or sales experience;
Master’s with 4 years of marketing or sales experience;
Bachelor’s with 6 years of marketing or sales experience;
Associate’s with 10 years of marketing or sales experience;
High school diploma/GED with 12 years of marketing or sales experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Customer‑facing experience in pharma or biotech (field sales, product marketing, medical/clinical) is required.
Experience in neurology, rheumatology, or gastroenterology therapeutic areas.
Exposure to multiple sclerosis and key MS centers, strongly preferred.
Clinical experience in rare diseases or specialty biologics, strongly preferred.
Thought leader or KOL leadership experience, a plus.
Proven track record of exceeding expectations and meeting goals in a cross‑functional environment.
Experience across multiple commercial functions is beneficial.
Ability to customize and execute timely action plans.
Demonstrated leadership, strategic agility, and persuasive aptitude.
Excellent collaboration and cross‑functional team leadership.
Strong presentation skills—consolidating and customizing information.
Strong organizational, analytic, and time‑management skills.
Exceptional clinical/business acumen.
Travel Requirements
Up to 80% travel, including conferences on weekends, overnight programs, and key internal meetings.
Must reside within territory boundaries given travel requirements.
