Shipping & Receiving Associate

Shipping and Receiving Associate

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

$17.50/hr – $23.60/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)
Job Summary The main focus is verifying incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. Willingness to cross‑train with other department areas.
Key Responsibilities
Packages parts carefully in protective wrap for shipment to customers.
Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for our customer base.
Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
Operates the stretch wrap banders.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of how to package manufactured parts for shipping.
Computer literacy.
Organizational skills.
Initiative.
Thoroughness / Detail oriented.
Time management.
Communication proficiency.
Valid driver license.
Must have a medical card or be able to obtain one.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing required all day.
Frequently lifts and/or moves items over 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
