Summary If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are exceptional client service, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness, and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join their Paralegal department in their San Francisco office, as a Paralegal-Commercial Real Estate.
Supports Real Estate practice area with drafting documents for commercial sales/lease deals which include escrow instructions, estoppels certificates, tenant notices, requests for consent, corporate authority documents, UCC statements and attachments, etc.
Responsibilities
Orders and reviews title/survey documents, reviews leases, participates in closings (ranging from small single site closings to large multi-site, multi-state closings), participate in/assist with managing due diligence document reviews, record mortgages and other documents, file UCC statements, coordinate post-closing distributions and other post-closing work
Drafts documents, correspondence, title and survey objection letters
Keeps multiple projects on schedule for closing and meet all deadlines
Preparation of closing binders, UCC searches and other typical real estate tasks
Assists with administrative tasks including updating attorney case files; binders; filing, scanning, printing and organization of documents on Worksite
Assists with closings and document preparation
Meets the Firm’s billable hours expectations and utilization
Adheres to best practices for daily time entry for client billable work; clock in, clock out procedures and time off requests
Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed
Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Paralegal certificate from ABA approved paralegal, preferred
Prior experience working in a law firm, preferred
Firm is willing to train the right person
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
Research capabilities
Knowledge of CT Advantage.com, xpedite or similar computer sites/systems for the preparation of UCC fixture filing forms required
Able to learn new software quickly
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
Exercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
The typical pay scale for this position is between $120,000.00-$159,000.00, plus overtime and bonus, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
