The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works under general supervision and performs diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice. Procures, prepares, administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications in accordance with the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Scope of Practice. Always ensures medication security. May perform procedures on the neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Performs and assists with nuclear medicine studies. They are responsible for patient safety protocols. Maintains all federal, state, local, and regulatory agency requirements and participates in CQI activities. Tuition Reimbursement: Repays up to 600 per calendar year for fees expended to attend a job-related seminar, licensure renewal (if mandated by), workshop, conference, individual course, or other training programs. Tuition Loan: Provides up to 2000 per calendar year for approved formal certificate or degree programs including prerequisites for approved degree programs. A tuition loan and reimbursement may with appropriate approvals be combined for a maximum of 2600. Critical Pipeline Loan: Tuition loans up to 5250 for specific degree programs at approved accredited schools identified by the organization. This program is for attaining the following degrees: Bachelors: BSN, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or Science. Masters: MSN, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, and Physical Therapy doctorate. Hours: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Ten hour shifts Requirements: Minimum of Assoc. Degree/College Diploma required. Two (2) years experience in an acute clinical setting or recent graduate from an accredited school. Certified by the State of California to practice and administer radiopharmaceuticals. Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing (required). Basic computer knowledge (required). Preferred: ARRT or CRT (preferred).
