Recreation Leader
The Recreation Leader is a part-time position in the Community Resources Department. Duties may include but are not limited to, the following: Perform a variety of custodial tasks and setup or breakdown of equipment for City facility users in accordance with diagrams or oral directions. Periodically check in with facility users. Provide assistance as needed. Monitor facility usage to ensure a safe environment. Open, close and secure various facilities throughout the City. Submit Work Orders to Administrative staff when necessary. Purchase supplies as assigned. Post signage, such as reservation signs and no parking signs, throughout the City. Process class registration and memberships using recreation software. Communicate all necessary information regarding after hours activities to Administrative staff. Assist at Department Special Events. Monitor activities within the Skate Park while enforcing rules and regulations. Must be 18 years of age or older. A High School Diploma is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Ability to: Complete work with limited supervision. Provide exceptional customer service and respond to public inquires and complaints in an effective and tactful manner. Manage time and prioritize workload. Work well under pressure. Work in a busy environment with constant disruptions and distractions. Work cooperatively in a team environment. Remain self-motived. Solve problems while making sound judgment. Physical Demands: Work requires frequent lifting up to 40 pounds, carrying, standing for long periods of time, bending, and reaching. The ability to work outdoors in both heat and cold is also required. Paid Sick Leave (24 hours per year) Pension (Public Agency Retirement Services) Commuter Benefit or Free Parking This position is not entitled to vacation leave or health benefit options.
