Drone Assembly Technician
DMR Drones / DMR Technologies is a fast-growing drone manufacturing and technology startup based in Lafayette, Louisiana. We design and assemble advanced agricultural and commercial drones right here in the U.S., and we're hiring Drone Assembly Technicians to help scale production. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical or carpentry aptitude who enjoys following instructions, working with tools, and building real, high-quality products. Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Assembly (Primary Focus) Assemble drone components and sub-assemblies by following instruction manuals, prints, and work instructions Use manual tools (Allen wrenches, hand tools), power tools (drills, electric screwdrivers), and precision measuring tools Precisely manufacture and assemble parts to specification and tolerance Perform repeatable, detail-oriented assembly in a production environment If you can assemble baby furniture, fix a lawn mower, or build something from instructions
you should excel in this role. Basic Electrical Assembly (Secondary) Perform very minor electrical work, including basic wiring and connections Follow prints and diagrams for simple electrical routing and hookups Assist with basic troubleshooting when issues arise (training provided) Production & Quality Support Inspect assemblies for quality, alignment, and completeness Identify defects, errors, or improvement opportunities and flag them early Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area Support continuous improvement as products and processes evolve Work Experience
Strong fit if you have: Mechanical assembly, carpentry, fabrication, maintenance, or hands-on trade experience Comfort using hand tools and basic power tools Ability to follow step-by-step instructions and technical drawings Attention to detail and pride in workmanship Reliability, coachability, and a team-first mindset Nice-to-Have (Not Required): Manufacturing, aerospace, electronics, or mechanical assembly experience Experience working from prints or instruction manuals Interest in drones, UAVs, or advanced manufacturing Startup or small-team manufacturing experience Someone who: Enjoys building physical products with their hands Takes pride in doing things right the first time Is comfortable learning new processes and tools Wants to help grow a Louisiana-made technology company Benefits
