Primary responsibilities would include Baseball, Swimming and either Women's Volleyball or Men's Hockey depending on the skillset of the applicant. All other responsibilities at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the practice of prevention, recognition, assessment, physical evaluation, management, treatment, disposition, and physical reconditioning of athletic injuries that are within the professional preparation and education of a licensed athletic trainer. This position develops plans of action based on testing data, leads exercise and fitness programs, and assists with determining return to competition. This position may be involved in marketing and outside community fitness programs. General hours of work include all shifts. Education and/or experience includes a graduate from an accredited college program. A bachelor's degree is required. Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification or NATABOC and licensure by the state of Iowa are also required. Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date. This position requires a valid driver's license and must carry their own automobile liability insurance. Essential functions include performing the practice of prevention, recognition, assessment, physical evaluation, management, treatment, disposition, and physical reconditioning of athletic injuries. Developing plans of action based on testing data. Leading exercise and fitness programs. Assisting with determining return to competition. Timely and appropriate documentation. Being available for teams served and present at required athletic events. Involvement in marketing and outside community fitness programs. Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
