We are seeking a Vice President Commercial Banking to join our lending team. Reporting to the Senior Vice President Team Lead, the VP is responsible for developing new loan and deposit business, underwriting, structuring, and closing of commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. Represents the bank in local community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing all of the bank’s products and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Source, develop and underwrite new financing requests for new and existing customers
Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income
Attain established goals for loan and deposit growth
Review, approval and disposition of commercial overdrafts
Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority with the bank as required
Use appropriate collection techniques and restructuring to minimize loss and risk of principal and interest
Review existing loan portfolio for documentation exceptions and periodic financial statements to maintain established quality standards consistent with bank policy
Actively participate in weekly loan committee meetings
Maintains knowledge of various loan and deposit programs and bank products
Present information on new credit requests, loan extensions and annual review for committee action
Support the bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on‑going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge
Adhere to the bank’s policies, procedures, security requirements and government regulations including (but not limited to) BSA.
Identifies opportunities to grow BWB’s deposit portfolio by working with Treasury Management & Deposit Services team members
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Growing client base of both loan and deposit relationships
Meeting and exceeding production goals
Works effectively and efficiently with internal client teams through in‑person interactions and contributions to company culture
Ability to independently analyze, structure, and close on complex loan transactions
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
7+ years of related banking experience
Formal credit training
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated persuasion skills and ability to develop strong relationships
Proven track record in working with all levels of senior management
High attention to detail and in‑depth knowledge of lending and lending policies and procedures

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The typical annual base pay range for this role is between $115,000-$160,000. Compensation may vary based on individual job‑related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
