Caregiver (2 PM - 10 PM Shift)
Location: Atlantic, Iowa Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Care Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team on the 2 PM to 10 PM shift. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care and support to our clients, ensuring their well-being, comfort, and dignity. This role is critical in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance due to age, illness, or disability. Key Responsibilities: - Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. - Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, keeping them engaged and socially active. - Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety and comfort. - Monitor and document clients' health status, including vital signs, and report any changes to the supervisor. - Administer medications as instructed and assist clients in following their care plans. - Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. - Support clients with transportation to appointments or social activities as needed. - Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. - Uphold the dignity and respect of each client, adhering to ethical and legal standards in all interactions. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field is a plus. - CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others. - Must be able to pass background checks and drug screening. - Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and transfer clients (up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds]). - Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. - Regularly required to engage in physical activity associated with providing care.
