Working for the Town of Mooresville provides a rewarding opportunity to support community programs that make a difference. This is a part-time, temporary position ideal for individuals interested in recreation programming and community engagement. This position is temporary and will run from Tuesday, May 26, 2026 through Friday, July 31, 2026. Applicants must be available to work for the full duration of this period. This position requires availability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support recreation programs, activities, and facility rentals. The Recreation Aide assists in supervising and implementing a variety of recreational activities and provides operational support for facility rentals. This role supports preschool programs, afterschool activities, adult recreation programs, and summer camps, while helping create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for participants. Recreation Aides actively engage with participants, assist with activity organization, and support staff with daily operations and program delivery. Duties and responsibilities include: Assist with the supervision and implementation of recreational activities, including adult programs, afterschool programs, and summer camps Actively engage with program participants and assist with organizing and conducting activities Provide support for facility rentals, including basic setup and operational assistance Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment Assist staff with daily program operations and participant supervision Perform related duties as required Minimum education and experience requirements include: Associate degree and two (2) years of experience planning recreational, athletic, and/or leisure activities; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates ages 1617 are exempt from the education and experience requirement. Special requirements include: Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License. Candidates ages 1617 are not required to have a driver's license and will not be required to drive Town vehicles. Must be comfortable driving passenger vans (if age-eligible) Candidates under the age of 18 must possess a North Carolina Youth Employment Certificate
