Veterinary Treatment Facility Position
This position is located at the Schofield Barracks Veterinary Treatment Facility. Responsibilities may include assisting the veterinarian to prepare for and during surgical procedures, monitoring patients using an anesthetic machine, and preparing and administering vaccinations and medications as prescribed. The role also involves providing individualized wellness counseling to clients and assisting in solving common husbandry problems. Requirements include a minimum of six months of experience in a veterinary medical setting, demonstrating knowledge, clinical skills, and abilities essential to perform successfully in accordance with the guidelines of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Additional qualifications such as proficiency in basic medical terminology, application of restraint techniques, and recording medical history and treatment in ccSOAP are highly preferred. Area of consideration is open to candidates within the Schofield Barracks/Honolulu, Hawaii area and surrounding 50-mile radius. Manual application options are available for those unable to apply online. Salary is pro-rated based on a 40-hour work week and will be determined based on grade level qualified. PCS costs are not authorized. Allowances and differentials may be paid contingent upon eligibility.
