Title: IT Contracts Specialist
Location: Work from Home – candidates MUST be local to SE Michigan, and available for occasional onsite meetings in Detroit, MI
Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8AM – 5PM EST
Note: This is a W2 contract position; C2C, 1099, and 3 rd party candidates will NOT be considered
The IT Contracts Specialist supports the development, negotiation, renewal, maintenance, and compliance of IT contracts with established standard terms, conditions, and templates. Working in close collaboration with the IT Contracts Manager, various business stakeholders, IT leaders, and Legal counsel, this role is responsible for contract execution, assessing contractual performance, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, as well as the support of specific standards, service level agreements, and contract administration. The IT Contracts Specialist ensures all IT contracting and procurement activity is consistently executed in accordance with company policy. As the senior member of a specialist group, the IT Contracts Specialist provides guidance and support to the Contract Specialists and Junior Contracts Specialists on system policies and departmental procedures.
Positions Duties:
· Supports the contract development and maintenance process, and ensure consistent management of all IT contracts · Monitor and track upcoming contractual actions and deadlines · Support the analysis and development of strategies for IT contract negotiations · Collaborate closely with various departments and IT leaders in the contract development process · Support development of standards for IT contracts, Key Performance Indicators, Service Level Agreements, and general language and provisions specific to information technology products and services · Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of IT contract text and attachments · Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal stakeholders on IT contractual issues · Provide monthly and annual IT contractual activity reports, and other metrics, to IT Contracts Manager and other IT Leadership, as requested · Provide advice and interpretation of IT contract requirements, obligations, and risk exposure to IT leaders · Apply creativity and sound business reasoning to align IT contract terms to IT and business needs · Review, analyze, and negotiate IT contracts to ensure compliance with applicable corporate policies and project requirements · Negotiate directly with suppliers throughout the preparation, evaluation, and execution of IT contracts, often as the primary organization IT contact · Participate in audits of IT contracts · Work with Legal counsel to determine the most appropriate contract types to reduce company exposure to risk · Identify and recommend process improvement methods related to IT contracting · Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, stakeholders, and suppliers · Perform other job-related duties, as assigned
Position Qualifications:
· 2-5 years of contracts experience, including contract review and negotiation · Strong knowledge of medical and technical acronyms · Prior experience with IT contracts preferred · A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Supply Chain Management required
