We are seeking a dedicated Administrative Registration Specialist to join our team on a PRN basis, providing essential support in patient registration and information management. This role involves conducting patient interviews, updating records in healthcare systems, obtaining consents, and ensuring data accuracy across various departments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient interviews in person or via phone to collect necessary information for medical records and billing. Register or pre-register patients for inpatient admissions, outpatient services, and clinic visits following established protocols. Maintain accuracy by resolving system errors and verifying insurance eligibility for admissions. Scan and manage documents using general scanning software. Verify outpatient and inpatient orders for accuracy and coordinate with relevant staff. Collect patient demographics and required signatures, issuing information as per policy guidelines. Confirm insurance coverage and notify appropriate personnel if pre-certification is incomplete. Determine upfront payments or co-payments based on insurance details and financial counseling. Request and log payments, issue receipts, and maintain petty cash balances. Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, and scanning. Assist patients with billing inquiries and payment processing at registration points. Maintain consistent attendance and meet physical demands of the role. Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Completion of a Mandatory Reporter course at hire or within six months. Proficiency with PC and familiarity with inpatient and outpatient insurance claims filing and reimbursement principles preferred. Ability to operate standard office equipment efficiently.
