As a Structural Engineer Co-op at SteelFab, you’ll work closely with our Engineering and Modeling teams and participate in a variety of projects that will deepen your understanding of the structural steel industry. Throughout the internship, you’ll take on a range of responsibilities designed to enhance your skills and broaden your experience.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze structural and architectural drawings to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
Assist in the design of bolted and welded connections for both gravity and lateral force‑resisting systems.
Learn and apply code requirements for wind and seismic lateral systems
Collaborate with the Detailing team to design and model connections in a 3D environment.
Review fabrication and erection drawings to ensure they meet project requirements.
Partner with the Software Development team to innovate and improve design technology and contribute to the advancement of industry practices.

Required:
Strong interest or experience in the engineering and construction industry. Competency in PDFs, Microsoft Excel and Word, common computer skills

Passed EIT exam or scheduled to take exam prior to graduation
