What You Will Do
The MSS-TA55 Group delivers critical maintenance services to FOD 1 and is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of facility maintenance at the TA-55 Plutonium Processing Facility, a key asset in support of LANL's national security mission. We are seeking an energetic individual with excellent customer service skills to join our team.
As a Work Week Compliance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in helping to stand up a new program responsible for tracking tools, materials, and work packages as well as developing processes and reports to identify and track "bottlenecks" or areas for improvement in our work processes. This position will participate in the planning/scheduling meetings for all corrective, preventative, and modification tasks and support MSS's campaign/outage schedules. This position will also be expected to participate and provide input in schedule development for the planning and execution of all MSS activities based on material availability/receipt dates and MTE tracking which are a part of maintaining TA-55's Vital Safety Systems. The selected individual for this position must be self‑motivated and driven to help develop this new role with MSS and must be able to work independently.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Track MSS's calibrated tool expiration dates (i.e. torque wrenches, backflow meters, gauges, etc.) and ensure no conflict with supported scheduled jobs.
Track material orders, provide EDD's, and provide scheduling input for all associated maintenance activities based on these orders.
Manage priority and emergent work.
Incorporate an effective feedback process that promotes and ensures continual improvement.
Facilitate open daily communication with support groups and Work Week Coordinators to ensure compliance, availability, productivity, and effectiveness.
Participate in outage development.
Understand and provide input to the annual MSS schedule.
Develop reporting metrics and oversee tracking of work packages.
Generate reports from CMMS/OBI Systems for MSS work orders and equipment.
Recognize areas of improvement and provide solutions.
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements Strategic Communication:
Experience communicating moderate to complex property and/or disposition management strategies/information, including the demonstrated ability to incorporate data‑driven reports/proposals, present ideas, and successfully challenge, and persuade, and build relationships with key contacts outside own organization or area of expertise.
Business Systems & Processes:
Knowledge with facility maintenance and/or construction management including systems engineering design and maintenance, safety basis, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, and upgrades and renovations. Knowledge of government and industry regulations affecting nuclear facility maintenance. Knowledge of nuclear facility maintenance preventive maintenance policies and procedures. Fluent in Microsoft Office Programs.
Technical:
Knowledge in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting work planning. Demonstrated ability in developing and using tracking tools and systems.
Personal Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to calmly manage frequent interruptions, customer needs, and changing priorities and facilitate positive outcomes in stressful situations. Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and/or administering methods to improve institutional property management policies/processes.
Education/Experience:
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, postgraduate coursework may be desirable.
