Schedule Part‑Time or Full‑Time

Shift 8am‑5pm Day‑shift

Location All of Advent Health Hospice service area: South suburbs, North suburbs south of RT‑14

The role you’ll contribute Responsible for providing bereavement support to family members who have lost a loved one. This position educates the community on bereavement processes and serves as a community representative for hospice services. It also offers emotional support and counseling to grieving individuals, helping them navigate their loss and collaborates with health‑care professionals to ensure comprehensive care for bereaved families.

The value you’ll bring to the team

Provides emotional support and counseling to individuals grieving the loss of a family member.

Leads support groups to facilitate discussions and encourage expression of feelings in a safe environment.

Contacts and assesses family members of deceased patients to identify their needs and offer support.

Offers brief therapy focused on grief issues to help clients develop coping skills and support systems.

Informs clients about available community resources to empower them to seek additional support.

Provides individual and group support both in‑office and in the field for hospice and community clients.

The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed Minimum qualifications

Master’s degree

3 years’ experience in counseling/social work or bereavement

Valid in‑state driver’s license with current car insurance
