Hybrid Senior International Tax Analyst – Harley-Davidson Motor Company – JunEAU, Full‑time, Shift 1
Job Summary The Senior International Tax Analyst will be responsible for performing day‑to‑day tax compliance functions for U.S. and International tax components of H‑D. They will maintain tax systems for the compliance and reporting process, assist in tax projects, partner with business units on transformation initiatives, support income tax audits, and perform value‑added activities within the Corporate Tax Team.
As part of the compliance process, the analyst will prepare or review state, local, federal, and international income tax returns, quarterly estimates, and annual extensions. They will extract data from relevant source systems and create organized, thorough workpapers that follow internal control procedures.
During quarterly and annual tax reporting, responsibilities include preparing US taxable income calculations, global tax provisions, non‑US income tax return review, return‑to‑provision calculations, and foreign inclusion calculations involving international components. The role also involves analysis of general ledger tax accounts, budgeting/forecasting assistance, inter‑company transaction testing, and transfer pricing analysis.
The analyst will interact across all levels of the organization and develop global tax capabilities using CorpTax software, VantagePoint Solutions, SAP General Ledger, Microsoft Office, Bloomberg Fixed Assets, and other leading tax technology tools.
Job Responsibilities
Tax Provision:
Prepare US taxable income calculations, global tax provisions, balance sheet rollforward schedules, non‑US income tax return review, return‑to‑provision calculations, tax footnote preparation, and income inclusion calculations.
Analyze tax accounts and assist with budgeting/forecasting, inter‑company pricing, transfer pricing reports, and monitoring files.
Work seamlessly across all areas of income tax to prepare workpapers, document procedures, and maintain tax systems.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare annual state, local, federal, and U.S. income tax returns (Forms 5471) required for international affiliates.
Review international corporate income tax returns and provide data and analysis to service providers preparing local deliverables.
Support Tax Management by coordinating calls with local service providers and finance teams related to compliance and reporting.
Prepare journal entries, check requests, and research tax payments or other specific data to resolve tax correspondence.
Prepare U.S. domestic and international reporting for BEA, Forms W8BEN‑E, and apply for U.S. residency certificates and other compliance items.
Tax Research & Audit Support:
Perform tax research, support corporate federal, state, and international income tax audits, and maintain tax systems.
Prepare audit‑ready workpapers that meet internal control requirements and support all levels of audits.
Support any tax functional needs and continuously improve processes, procedures, and responsibilities related to the role to enhance compliance, reporting, and audit documentation.
Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required
Education Specifications
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accounting, Finance, or related field).
Advanced degree in Taxation (MST), CPA designation, or Law Degree is a plus.
Experience Requirements Required:
3 years of related experience.
Strong business, communication, organization, and analytical skills.
Ability to collect, evaluate, and organize multiple sources of data using tax technology tools to prepare corporate returns, provisions, and workpapers.
Ability to effectively communicate conclusions through spreadsheets, presentations, memos, and tax technology reports.
Detail‑oriented, capable of multi‑tasking and managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
A self‑starter who focuses on execution and precision, navigating a large organization and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrates strong accountability and provides consistent updates to the Tax Team and direct manager.
Preferred:
Familiarity with CorpTax Compliance, CorpTax Provision, Alteryx, Bloomberg Fixed Assets, and SAP consolidation and reporting tools.
Experience in the global motorcycle market or a similar consumer industry; international experience desired.
