Excellent opportunity for an Estimator looking to join a fantastic company, working on technically interesting projects where you will have a clear path of progression towards Senior Estimator or Project Management.

An established fabrication business in the HVAC and construction sector is expanding its pre-construction team and is looking for a Junior Estimator to take on a key position. They support major commercial builds across education, healthcare, hospitality, residential developments and public venues, and they've built a reputation for reliability and quality over several decades.
The opening comes from a retirement, and it's created a genuine succession opportunity for someone who wants long term career growth.
What you'll be doing
Managing estimates across a mix of small works and large multi-million dollar projects, including:
Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
Interpreting plans, specs and project requirements
Preparing accurate cost estimates for labor, materials and fabrication
Working with suppliers to secure competitive pricing
Producing clear proposals and bid packages
Identifying cost efficiencies and value engineering options
Partnering with project managers to ensure alignment
Keeping accurate, organized documentation and records
What they're looking for
Experience as an Estimator in construction, HVAC, sheet metal or ductwork
Confident in reading blueprints and technical drawings
Strong analytical and problem solving capability
Good communication skills
Familiarity with estimating software
Fully office based in Chesapeake, VA
