Primary Purpose Involves general bid/proposal preparation for new and existing clients. This position also supports miscellaneous departmental projects as needed by Business Development. It supports the organization’s processes for developing high‑quality proposals and competitive price offers for hospitals and hospital systems across the United States.

Essential Functions

Work with sales, marketing, and operations to solicit, review, and write responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals).

Analyze prospect test mix to cross‑reference with ARUP’s tests and procedures for accurate pricing analysis.

Analyze bid profitability, corporate goals, and guidelines, and prepare price quotations for all proposals.

Coordinate, develop, and implement special pricing packages.

Provide field support for proposal pricing, preparation, and special pricing requests, including analyses/comparisons.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical And Other Requirements

Stooping: Bend forward at the waist.

Reaching: Extend hands/arms in any direction.

Mobility: Occasionally move between work sites and within the office.

Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.

PPE: Use personal protective equipment per CDC, OSHA, and company policies in a biohazard laboratory environment.

ARUP Policies: Conduct work in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Sedentary Work: Occasionally exert up to 10 lb of force or frequently handle negligible force.

Fine Motor Control: Pick, pinch, type, or work primarily with fingers.

Vision: Have close, far, and peripheral acuity to perform varied tasks.

Qualifications Education

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.

Preferred:

Associate’s Degree or better in Business or related field.

Experience

Required:

Completed 40 credit hours toward a college degree.

Six months of experience in statistical analysis, mathematics, cost accounting, business administration, healthcare industry, or marketing.

Preferred:

Associate’s degree in core sciences and/or business, marketing, or finance.

One year of experience in a laboratory environment with knowledge of testing procedures and methodologies.

10‑key proficiency.

Medical terminology knowledge.

Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
