At Avesis, the Provider Relations Representative II plays a vital role in connecting our vision provider community with the resources, education, and support they need to thrive.

As a key member of our Provider Relations Department, you'll be the bridge between Avesis and our participating provider network, ensuring that our partners are equipped, informed, and engaged every step of the way.

In this role, you will combine the flexibility of a hybrid work environment with the opportunity to build lasting partnerships both remotely and in the field.

Our chosen candidate must reside in the state of Georgia due to the travel component of this role.

Functional Competencies

Provide provider operations support, engaging and training to resolve issues.

Conduct provider outreach via in-person/video/phone or email, delivering training, orientation, and coaching.

Document all provider interactions and maintain clear, timely notes.

Maintain thorough and timely records for accountability.

Hold monthly and/or quarterly meetings with provider groups, documenting discussions, issues, and action items.

Own and manage relationships with assigned provider groups as primary point of contact.

Communicate and share provider claims and directory reporting internally and externally.

Complete provider orientation across all product lines via phone, email, in-person, or virtual.

Perform onsite facility reviews and quarterly face-to-face visits within assigned territory.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop operational solutions for provider network projects.

Educate providers on state programs, policy, and compliance requirements.

Investigate and respond to complex provider contract inquiries and claim issues.

Attend work-related events and conferences representing the organization professionally.

Coach, mentor, and develop junior team members.

Core Competencies

Knowledge of health plan operations preferred.

Knowledge of provider/health plan contracts and agreements highly desired.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases, and office applications.

Experience with provider credentialing and contracting processes preferred.

Health insurance claims experience and data analysis skill preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must reside in the state of Georgia.

2+ years of optometry or ophthalmology office experience required.

Comprehension of vision industry claim terminology.

A valid driver’s license with proof of auto insurance and ability to use own vehicle.

Travel up to 50% required.

Remote role with internet service of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload while hardwired.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Previous provider relations experience.

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified Ophthalmic Technician, and Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician.

Pay and Benefits Base pay within the range is determined by candidate’s skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, the pay ranges for new hires are:

Zone A: $46,080.00–$76,800.00

Zone B: $50,220.00–$83,700.00

Zone C: $54,050.00–$90,080.00

FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt.

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, and commission.
