Summary A successful Accounting Specialist combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to oversee general accounting operations.
What You’ll Do
Ensure transactions follow IFRS accounting standards and division/corporate SOPs
Responsible for month‑end cut‑off with transactions recorded in proper period and proper GL account
Accounts Payable entries including any necessary research & troubleshooting
Accounts Receivable entries including any necessary research & troubleshooting
Enter monthly journal entries and accruals
Enter inventory adjustments
Reconcile and post customer payments
Process monthly credit‑card expense reports for approximately 20 users
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Complete month‑end reports assigned by management
Complete customer and vendor statement reconciliations
Set up new inventory items in ERP system
Update buying and selling prices of inventory items
Assist in physical inventory counts and reconciliations
Support co‑workers, vendors, and customers by answering email inquiries
Set up new vendors and customers in the ERP system
Assist management during internal control audits and year‑end financial audits
Assist in establishing procedures within the group to promote consistency and best practices
Additional tasks will be assigned by management as needed
What You Need
Four‑year college degree; preferred majors are Accounting and Finance
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Must be able to work independently and use problem solving, analytical, and communication skills to oversee daily activities and make decisions to ensure smooth operation
Analyze current business practices, find flaws, make improvements, and standardize
Meet deadlines set forth by management
Work in a cross‑cultural environment and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and business partners
