Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will carry out engineering assignments concerned with the planning, design and testing of mechanical equipment, systems, and processes. Works cooperatively with other departments. Supports higher level engineers for medium level complexity projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design mechanical equipment, systems and processes.
Perform calculations and analyses to ensure suitability of design.
Solve problems related to assembly, repair and test of environmental control systems.
Under general supervision, perform assignments involving responsibility for a secondary project or part of a major project.
May give directions and guidance to junior level engineers, designers and drafters.
Write reports as required.
Present designs to peers, other engineers and customers.
Work under supervision, perform assignments of medium complexity and may assist senior engineers with more complex assignments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.S.M.E) from four‑year college or university.
Two to five years of experience with design, analysis and development of industrial equipment.
Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design.
Knowledge of drawing and drafting standards a plus.
Capable of carrying out assignments concerning mechanical equipment.
Understanding of military specifications, environmental specifications, and test specifications desired.
Hands‑on test and hardware experience required.
Strong oral/written communication skills and must be capable of conducting effective oral presentations to customers.
Must be a US citizen due to FAA regulations.
