Overview
Sous Chef position for Morrison Healthcare, a leading national food and nutrition services company serving more than 600 hospitals and healthcare systems. The role focuses on the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility, assisting in supervision, preparation, and cooking of various items, developing daily menus, and collaborating with the Executive Chef/Chef on new menus and ordering. This is an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional opportunity. Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures for the account Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus Produce and execute catering events Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and the culinary team Qualifications
A.S. or equivalent experience Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training Catering experience a plus High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e-mail and Internet Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities ServSafe certification is highly desirable Salary and Benefits
