Description Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an

Senior Database Administrator

- Hosting to support

USCIS Enterprise Automation & Unified Task Orchestration (eAUTO)

contract‑delivering 24O7 IT services that integrate automation, cloud, hosting, and unified communications for 30000+ endusers.

The Senior Database Administrator will be a key member of the Hosting team, responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization of USCIS's enterprise databases. This role is crucial for ensuring the high availability, security, and integrity of data residing on various hosting platforms, directly supporting critical agency applications and services.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain database systems within Windows, Unix, and Linux hosting environments.

Perform database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.

Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.

Manage database security, including user access, roles, and compliance with agency policies.

Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and replication strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

Participate in disaster recovery planning and validation exercises for database systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex database‑related issues, working closely with system administrators and application teams.

Contribute to the development and implementation of automation scripts and tools for routine database tasks.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Collaborate with other eAUTO teams, including automation and cloud operations, to ensure seamless integration and support for database requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, with 10 yrs DBA experience installing and configuring Oracle databases.

Working knowledge of advanced Oracle 11 and 12 features such as RAC and Automatic Storage Management (ASM).

Experience with Oracle and VM.

10 years of scripting.

2 years of experience with on‑premise AWS migrations.

Proven expertise with major relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) within Windows, Unix, and Linux environments.

Strong understanding of database high availability (e.g., clustering, AlwaysOn) and disaster recovery concepts.

Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.

Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements.

Ability to develop and implement automation for database administration tasks.

DHS Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience with USCIS IT infrastructure and database systems.

Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).

Experience working on USCIS contracts and mission environments

Pay and Benefits Pay Range $104,650.00 – $189,175.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
