Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Field Technician / Mechanic II/III in the Tuscumbia, AL / North Alabama operations area, reporting to the Shop/Maintenance Manager.
Job Details
Wages start at $25/hr for entry level/limited experience. Starting wage will be higher based on verifiable experience.
Full‑time, Permanent.
Day Shift. Weekend work may be required.
Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits.
Job Responsibilities
Perform repairs on heavy trucks, heavy equipment, and asphalt equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose a wide range of service issues affecting major components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drivetrain components, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
Familiarize with heavy equipment parts including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
Operate mobile equipment and a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
Qualifications
Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and ability to perform all duties under DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on‑road trucks.
Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
Preferred experience performing DOT Annual Inspections.
Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70 lbs.
Ability to climb and perform work at heights of up to 20 feet.
Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
