Key Responsibilities
Research, Writing & Case Strategy (Primary – 90%)
Draft high-level briefs, motions, and memoranda for a wide range of immigration matters, including:
Motions to Reopen/Reconsider
Appeals to the BIA
Removal defense briefs
USCIS RFEs, NOIDs, and waivers
Complex legal opinions and strategy reports
Conduct comprehensive legal research on immigration statutes, regulations, case law, and policy changes.
Develop case strategies and collaborate with the CEO and legal team to strengthen filings and improve case outcomes.
Review and enhance filings prepared by paralegals to ensure quality, accuracy, and legal strength.
Client Consultations & Limited Representation (Secondary – 10%)
Participate occasionally in new client consultations to assist with eligibility analyses and legal strategy.
Provide limited support in select hearings or USCIS interviews when necessary.
Offer guidance and mentorship to team members on legal arguments and complex issues.
Monitor circuit court trends and emerging case law relevant to the firm’s litigation and removal caseload.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD)
from an accredited law school.
Active bar license
in any U.S. state (Georgia preferred but not required).
3–7+ years of immigration law experience , with extensive research and writing responsibilities.
Proven ability to draft persuasive motions, briefs, and legal arguments.
Strong background in removal defense, family-based immigration, and humanitarian forms of relief.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with BIA briefs, motions to reopen, waivers, and appellate-style writing.
Highly analytical thinker with the ability to simplify complex legal issues.
Excellent time management and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Bilingual in English and Spanish
strongly preferred.
