– FAR Inspections FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Based in Reno, NV, the company has been in business for over 9 years. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines is crucial. What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Independent contractors are sent out to conduct inspections with the purpose of: Verifying property occupancy. Reporting on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. Inspectors contract at a county level and may share a county with another inspector if volume allows. Responsibilities
Complete most inspections within 5–6 minutes. Finish the inspection within 4 days after assignment. Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Fill out a short form in the app. Drive extended periods while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory. Requirements
Computer with an internet connection. Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you will pay for your own gas). Smartphone (Android or iPhone). Printer. Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license. Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates; higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set monthly inspection minimum, but the work is consistent month-to-month. Earn more as you become established, increase availability, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement is provided above the flat fee per inspection. Seniority Level
