Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering systems and components such as pumps, coils, heat exchangers, and fans

Heating/Cooling loads calculations

HVAC equipment selections

Air and water plant distribution piping and ductwork sizing

Ventilation calculations

Pipe stress analysis calculations

CFD analysis calculations

Calculations will be done using software tools such as IES, Pipe‑Flo, Rhor2, and 6SigmaRoom. Prior knowledge of the software is a plus but not required

In addition, the engineer will be responsible for the creation of drawings and specifications, participating in site walks, code analysis, and project meetings as required

Capabilities & Credentials

Developing knowledge of mechanical systems design

Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks (preferred)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering

6+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an engineering consulting firm or similarly related industry

Professional Engineering license required

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
