Atlantic Region CBO The Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (ARCBO) provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre‑access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduling, pre‑registration and, if needed, insurance verification within 24 hours of receipt of reservation/notification for both inpatient and outpatient services.
Contact physician to resolve issues regarding prior authorization or referral forms.
Research patient visit history to ensure compliance with the Medicare 72‑hour rule and complete the Medicare Secondary payer questionnaire and ABN as applicable.
Contact patient in a timely and courteous manner to confirm or obtain missing demographic information, quote/collect patient payment, and instruct patient on where to present at time of appointment.
Perform electronic eligibility confirmation utilizing HDX and calling insurances when necessary.
Work with facility departments and internal departments of the CBO to investigate and resolve issues associated with patient or insurance company inquiries.
Act as a liaison to the hospital departments in resolving issues and documenting accordingly.
Implement and follow system downtime procedures when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of healthcare experience preferred.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Customer‑focused mindset, strong attention to detail, multi‑tasking ability, 10‑key data entry proficiency, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with pre‑registration and 1–3 years of healthcare business office experience preferred.
