Responsibilities Candidate will work onsite at Aberdeen Test Center (ATC), located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Candidate will work independently and in groups within the team of government and contractor personnel in support of the ATC mission.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts efforts necessary to perform a variety of tasks associated with testing power generation systems, to include operating and maintaining equipment. Devises approaches to accomplish work, resolve operational problems, and make decisions in situations where standard methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable. Works with engineers/testing personnel to set up tests that properly adhere to correct test operating procedures and military standards.
Applies conventional engineering practices to analyze schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists.
Conducts specific test or experimental procedures requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of electrical power generation and distribution test procedures; sets up and operates equipment; records data.
Establishes circuit interrupter, maximum power, fuel consumption, and other specialized tests and processes the data in accordance with well-defined methods and designated formulas.
Identifying electrical problems and repairing them
Analyzes and presents various test data in accordance with established methods.
Effectively operates power generation system computers, software, and other related technology; troubleshoots and corrects all malfunctions.
Prepares all or portions of Job Hazard Analyses, Risk Assessments, Detailed Test Plans, and Final Reports for testing.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent
Schedule: M-T, 12-hrs/day with 2 shifts and every other Friday off
Leave and salary are based on the Union agreement

Job Requirements
Must have 3 yr. of applicable experience or at least 60 credit hours or an associate’s degree and 1 yr. of applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 2 yrs. of applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 1 yr. of applicable experience.
Survey sites where electrical systems are installed
Demonstrated experience in drafting electrical installation plans and technical diagrams
Shall possess basic computer skills.
Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and wearing personal protective equipment for assigned work tasks. Work may be performed in the field subject to the environment and sometimes in an environmentally controlled office environment.
Bonus Skills
Licensed or certified electrician
Possess a license to operate forklift(s) and other required support equipment.
Possess Overhead Bridge Crane operator license; shall possess Crane Car Operator license.
Possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
