Local CDL B Route Driver
Location: Charlotte, NC – Gateway – Dry‑ice logistics
Airgas, a leading supplier of dry‑ice, is hiring a CDL B Driver to deliver dry ice to customers in the Charlotte area.
Responsibilities
Home daily
Deliver dry ice to customer locations and load/unload dry ice using forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment
Obtain customer signatures and verify piece counts against the load manifest
Collect empty dry‑ice boxes and return them to the plant or branch
Provide excellent customer service and report customer feedback to the Branch Manager
Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of trucks according to DOT and company maintenance checklists; keep the truck interior clean
Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, DOT and OSHA requirements
Secure cargo before and during transit
Qualifications
At least 21 years old
Minimum 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 5 years, or completion of a trucking school certificate within the last 12 months
Experienced military CDL drivers count as qualifying experience
No preventable accidents in the last 3 years
No more than 2 minor tickets in the last 3 years
No serious violation tickets (speeding 15+ mph, reckless driving, etc.) in the last 3 years
No CDL suspensions in the last 3 years except for failure to pay child support
No DUI in the last 7 years
Benefits Competitive pay of $24 per hour plus a $1,000 referral bonus. Paid weekly via direct deposit. Full‑time schedule Monday‑Thursday with select Saturday work (start 3–5 am). Average 40+ hour work week, 8–12 stops daily. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick and floating holidays, paid holidays, parental leave, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and Airgas Scholarship Program.
