Job Description
The Intervention Specialist in Grades 3‑5 works with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities to ensure that lessons and teaching strategies meet the students’ needs, teach independent living skills, and provide appropriate literacy, communication, and math skills.
Salary: $46,000 non‑negotiable, $5,000 sign‑on bonus, opportunity to earn an annual bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, STRS retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Start date: ASAP for the 25/26 school year.
Location: The role is fully remote; candidates must reside within 100 miles of the Ohio border, be willing to travel up to 20% of the time, and obtain Ohio certification as required.
Essential Functions
Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state’s content standards to meet the unique needs of each student.
Write and maintain compliant IEPs for students identified with special needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers to meet the goals of the student.
Educate parents on various instructional strategies.
Prepare appropriate documentation.
Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings.
Proctor achievement and other required testing to students, including alternative assessments if required.
Collaborate with related services team to ensure IEP goals are developed and monitored.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Organizational skills, multi‑tasking abilities.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Flexible schedule; ability to travel as needed.
Ability to pass required background check.
Minimum Required Qualifications
State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License.
Bachelor’s degree AND equivalent combination of education and experience.
Microsoft Office proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 1 year classroom experience.
Master’s degree with an emphasis in Special Education.
3 or more years of classroom experience in Special Education.
Work Environment
The noise level in the home office is usually moderate.
The noise level at meeting locations throughout the state is typically moderate.
