The Estimator will work collaboratively with the sales team to prepare comprehensive estimates for architectural designs, ensuring accurate allocation of materials, labor, and equipment while addressing unique complexities of each project.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Retrieve electronic bidding documents for Commercial landscape projects
Communicate and work with clients for each project to obtain all details for accurate estimating
Become familiar with all aspects of the job plans and specifications to fully understand the scope of work
Create accurate estimates based on detailed takeoffs created from landscape and irrigation designs and specifications of commercial clients
Secure and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes and incorporate those proposals into the estimate
Clearly outline and share project clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions with stakeholders to promote transparency and alignment in the contract
Compile and document comprehensive project notes—including estimates, proposals, scope, requirements, bid assumptions, schedules, vendor quotes, and specifications—to ensure a smooth handoff to the production team
Maintain and update bid tracking sheet, lead tracking sheet and bid closing spreadsheet
Other duties as may be assigned
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk in both an office and onsite outdoors environment
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Requirements:
2+ years of estimating experience and/or landscape construction experience
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, digital takeoff software, Adobe Pro
Certificates, License, Registrations:
Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a safe driving record
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, ratios, percentages, and decimals
Ability to analyze problems and create solutions that add value to the client and the company
Desired Qualities:
Experience with Aspire software and E-takeoff
Experience in both residential and commercial estimating
Certified Irrigation Designer or willingness to earn it
