Brief Summary of Work
The College of Science and Engineering invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholars with the ability to research in one or more of the following Sciences departments and disciplines:
Biology and Marine Biology
Chemistry and Biochemistry
Earth and Ocean Sciences
Physics and Physical Oceanography
Computer Science
Mathematics and Statistics
Postdoctoral scholars will conduct research and may oversee projects and personnel, manage projects, assist in proposal and manuscript development, acquire data, and perform advanced analysis both in field and laboratory settings. They will interact with academic departments and various university units for project management.
Responsibilities
Have a primary faculty mentor.
Develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP) in coordination with the mentor.
Participate in professional development programming offered through the university.
Assist with research project oversight, proposal writing, manuscript preparation, data acquisition, and analysis.
Collaborate with cross‑departmental teams and conduct both field and laboratory research.
Appointment Description Postdoctoral appointments are term‑limited based on funding availability, with typical 12‑month full‑time appointments for 1–2 year terms, not to exceed five years in total.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in one of the listed science fields, conferred before the appointment start date but no more than five (5) years prior.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Applicants with strong research experience, project management skills, and a record of scientific publication are preferred.
Required Certifications or Licensure None specified.
