Located in the Sand Hills of Nebraska, Dismal River Club is well known for its two world-class golf courses and 5-star facilities: fishing ponds, kayaking, long-range shooting, five stand clays, river run shooting clay course, pistol range, pheasant/buffalo hunts, pool, and spa. The 27,000 sq/ft clubhouse includes a full bar and restaurant where guests can enjoy our own Dismal River beef and other delicious entrees. Compensation is $19-21/hr based on experience. One meal is provided per shift. Unlimited golf privileges (with supervisor permission). Status: Full-time available. Seasonal or year-round options. Responsibilities: Responsible for all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds, and equipment. Assists the Superintendent with planning and implementing budget and operating plans. Hires, trains, and supervises staff. Responsibilities also include applying relevant landscaping and horticultural principles to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in developing the annual maintenance budget and operating plan. Implement the plan according to company policies to ensure cost containment. Plan and implement staffing schedules to ensure quality standards are achieved efficiently. Supervise and perform maintenance duties to maintain the golf course in proper condition. Supervise the development and maintenance of drainage, irrigation, pumping, and water reservoir systems. Supervise planting, fertilizing, and care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees. Assist with fertilizer, aeration, and pest management programs. Supervise course construction projects. Oversee equipment maintenance and repair, establishing preventative maintenance programs. Ensure cleanliness and quality standards are maintained across all areas, including employee hygiene, equipment, storage, and facilities. Monitor procurement processes to maintain proper inventories and ensure cost-effectiveness. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Manage employment activities including recruitment, evaluations, training, and discipline. Maintain accurate records of department activities and submit required reports timely. Stay informed on industry developments through trade publications and associations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of golf course maintenance and supervisory experience. Experience in budget management, strategic planning, and staff management. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Problem-solving ability and capacity to handle multiple duties under pressure. Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends. Professional appearance and attitude.
