Full-time Sous Chef to continue our story of compassionately caring for our residents. As a full-time Sous Chef, you will be assisting the Food Services Director to help with the operation of the Food Services department.

Shifts:
10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Rotation of 4 days on 2 days off.
Includes weekend and holiday shifts.
Responsibilities:
Work with the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services to produce diversified menus in accordance with the Community’s policy and vision.
Establish the work schedule and organize work in the kitchen so that all tasks are accomplished efficiently and with excellence.
Produce high quality dishes that follow the established menu and standards.
Train the kitchen staff to achieve the best for the nutrition and enjoyment of our residents.
Prepares or assists in preparation of complete meals – preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc. in accordance with menus and recipes.
Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Requirements:
Three to five years proven experience as a cook or 1+ years as a Sous Chef.
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.), equipment and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
High School diploma or GED required, training from a culinary school preferred.
Ability to speak, read & write English.
Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.
