We have an exciting opportunity for a
Structural Dynamics Engineer
to join the team with ERC a teammate company.
** We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, we do not have assurance at this time when the position will be finalized and opened. Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews. **
Responsibilities
Perform finite element model checks, dynamic model reductions, coupled loads analysis, and interpret results
Perform dynamic analyses using commercial and in-house codes, writing new simulation scripts and code, typically with Python, as needed
Perform vibroacoustic analysis on finite element models in preparation for acoustic and random vibration tests
Perform modal analysis on finite element models in preparation for modal tests
Identify critical modes for a component or integrated system
Review and process modal and structural data (analytical and test)
Develop and/or review test plans and procedures, documenting test results
Perform signal processing on analytical and/or test data
Perform model correlation by adjusting analytical models based on test data to better align the model with actual hardware
Perform other duties as required
Requisition Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with desktop software applications, MS Office is required
Experience in finite element model manipulation and coupled loads analysis
Experience with Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++
Requisition Preferences
BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
Experience using MSC NASTRAN with FEMAP as a pre/post-processor
Experience or relative coursework in Systems Engineering
Experience or proficiency with Component Mode Synthesis and Craig Bampton model reductions

Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
