FAR INSPECTIONS
Overview
FAR Inspections, based in Reno, NV, has been in business for over 9 years. We are looking for highly motivated independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. This role offers predictable full‑time or supplemental income a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; effective time management and meeting deadlines are essential.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property and report on general condition using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection takes 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Drive extended periods while making multiple stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (own gas expenses).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate which varies by county and volume. Equivalent earnings are $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county—urban or rural—you will complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. There is no set number of inspections per month; the work is consistent month to month. Earnings increase with experience, availability, and larger territories.
No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
Location Based in Reno, NV. Contractors will cover all inspections within their assigned county. Some counties may involve splitting the territory with another inspector.
